HYRD GUNZ is based in Ottawa/Ottawa Valley Ontario. We are five veteran musicians that strive to deliver the best classic rock ,retro and country mix so as to appeal to the majority of the dancing and listening public. HYRD GUNZ uses all band members' vocal abilities to achieve the best vocals available, including harmonies and lead vocals to attempt to match the artist as close as possible. Jayson"Flash Gunz"- Lead Guitar/Vocals Jayson (aka) “Flash Gunz” Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter and founding member began playing guitar in his early teens and and since then music has become a big part of his life. He has played in many different styles of bands over the past 20 years from country to rock and metal.    One of these earlier bands was “Lightning Strikes” that was geared towards newer country. Another was an Ottawa based Metal band “Doxi”. “A-Team” was a harder edge danceable rock/80`s band.    Jayson is an 80`s rocker at heart but must admit he loves all types of music. After many years of singing and playing guitar live he has become a well rounded musician. Jayson is constantly thriving to improve his own skills and also enjoys teaching guitar for fun and ambition.      He grew up listening to the music that has become the signature sound of “Hyrd Gunz”. His inspiration is to have people dancing the night away and party all night long. He lives to play live, which is what "Hyrd Gunz" loves to do.”To put on a great performance! is what it's all about” says Jayson. “We love to do what we do and we will make certain you’ll have a great time”.   

Robert "Bob"- Bass Guitar/Vocals Born and raised in the Ottawa Valley, Robert aka “Bob” started playing bass guitar at the age of 11 in “The Pallen Family” Country music act during the early 1980’s.    He started playing top 40 Rock music with his two brothers in “The Missing Link” and has countless fond memories of the 1980’s night club scene.    As a member of the International Recording Act “Angelica” he recorded several albums, one video and was with the band from 1988-1993.    After “Angelica” he did some studio session work on an album for “Siloam” in 1993.    While playing Classic Rock in “Martel” from 1993-1998 his time with band mates produced life long friendships. Martel decided it was time to end so Bob took some time away from music and focused on his family and career.    He got the call to join “Cynical Limit” for two studio albums from 2003-2005 with Dennis Cameron of “Angelica” and Jeff Martel of “Martel”.    After a brief hiatus he felt it was time to get back to it and Hyrd Gunz is just what the doctor ordered!!!

Capt.Kirk James -Lead Vocals/Guitar  Kirk`s has played with many bands and musicians through the valley over the last 20 years. He is a true Rocker but enjoys dabling in all music forms. Some of his main vocal influences are Sabastian Bach, Sammy Hagar to name just a few. Countless other vocalists  have inspired him have inspired him .  His vocal range is evident at each Hyrd Gunz show and tested constantly over the last 4 years as the frontman of Hyrd Gunz . He is constantly working with new ideas and original songs to add to the Hyrd Gunz repetoir. He also enjoys playing guitar while writing original material. So don`t be shocked to see a six string around him from time to time at a show in the near future.

Josh Eldridge - Drums /Percussion/Vocals   Josh discovered a passion for the musical arts, excelling in a wide variety of instruments at the early age of 10. He was particularly drawn to the drums and harmonization of vocals. His Influences include John Bonham, Bill Ward, Lars Ulrich, Ginger Baker, and Buddy Rich .He began his career playing with a band called Frantic Order and eventually gained experience through an extensive repertoire of bands  last being International Recording Artists The Ghost Town Cryers.. Josh had the fortune of traveling throughout Ontario and Quebec and the U.S. over the years . His talent and ambition gave him the opportunity to participate in session and studio work, as well as, the co-production of numerous CD’s..Josh is ready to lay down the beat and keep you dancing all night long with Hyrd Gunz .

Jeff H- Lead Guitar/Vocals   As a guitar student , Jeff began playing guitar at the young age of 14. From then on it became more than just a hobby, it was a passion. At the age of 17, he joined the band "Martel" where he played with “Hyrd Gunz” current bass player, “Bob”. Nine years later, after the band decided to move on, Jeff began teaching his own students guitar as well as writing and producing his own material. He still enjoys writing and teaching and is energized in“Hyrd Gunz”.  and has a great time adding his original stylings to Hyrd Gunz ever growing material.
